Disney Infinity 3.0 Leak

A few days ago, this image circulated around the net. A supposed starter set for Disney Infinity 3.0 was leaked by a German retailer.

Now, does this really come as a surprise to anyone? As soon as Disney Infinity 2.0 was announced with Marvel Heroes, the next logical jump would be that the next iteration of Disney Infinity would be focused on Star Wars. The timing is right with Star Wars: The Force Awakenings coming this December and Star Wars: Rebels playing in DisneXD. An August release of Disney Infinity 3.0 with Star Wars would be the perfect marketing tool.

If this image is to be believed, especially with no formal announcement from Disney Interactive, it appears that the Clone Wars characters are the inspiration for this set. It also appears that we might get a good mix of classic film characters (Leia in A New Hope costume) and newer characters like Ahsoka. The image seems to tell us that a tauntaun might be a mount and we might see Hoth and Tatooine as either terrain discs or playable worlds.

I just hope that with Disney Infinity 3.0, we still see Disney Originals characters (like Goofy, Tron, , Jim Hawkins, and Mulan) and Marvel Heroes (Ultron, Daredevil, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch would be great!). At last year's summit, there was even talk of underwater worlds, like The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo.

Let's hope that an announcement follows soon! Like May the 4th.
