The Indonimus Rex

Jurassic Park inspired a new generation to fear dinosaurs back in 1993. The frightening intelligence of the raptors, the power of the T-Rex, the cunning of the dilophosaurus, and the majesty of the brachiosaurs made dinosaurs tangible and delight to behold. Now, Jurassic World introduces us to the abomination known as the Indonimus Rex.

What we know about the monster so far:

Name meaning: Fierce or Untamable King
Habitat: Jurassic World
Length: Currently 40ft
Weight: TBD
Origin: Hammond Creation lab

Jurassic World Marketing had this to say:

“We set out to make Indominus Rex the most fearsome dinosaur ever to be displayed at Jurassic World. The genetic engineers at our Hammond Creation Lab have more than delivered.

At first glance, Indominus Rex most closely resembles a T. Rex, but its distinctive head ornamentation and ultra-tough bony osteoderms can be traced from Theropods known as Abelisaurs. Indominus’ horns have been placed above the eye orbit through genetic material hybridized from Carnotaurs, Majungasaurus, Rugops, and Gigantosaurus. Fearsome indeed.
Indominus’ roar is estimated to reach 140-160db-the same as a 747 taking off and landing. It’s speed can reach 30 mph…while confined to its enclosure. Come experience Indominus Rex this summer. If you dare.”

Other information we have gathered:

Genetic material from cuttlefish and tree frogs were used in the creation of the Indonimus Rex, indicating it may have the ability to change color.

It is highly intelligent and has opposable thumbs, giving it the ability to open doors.

Has the ability to regrow lost or old teeth like a Great White Shark.
