Frenemies

Why: Buford and Baljeet don't have that many songs, but this one takes the cake. It's a broadway style song with symbiotic relation . . . ships and the pluralization of at. It's great fun to see Buford and Baljeet together having so much fun.

A-G-L-E-T

Why: Who knew that a song about that little plastic piece at the end of a shoelace could be so enduring? The puns and play on words come fast and hard in this song. It's super catchy and has some great moments. Even Candace gets into eventually. For Disney Infinity fans, the aerial area rug plays this on the tv as you soar around!

There's a Platypus Controlling Me

Why: A midday scrap yard rave is in full swing when Doof falls victim to his own devolition-inator. Perry saves the day by helping Doof DJ the event and not embarrass Vanessa. It's a hilarious song under hilarious circumstances.


My Nemesis 

Pic-A-Nic Bust 

Why: A pic-a-nic a-nic a-nic bust! Candace is singing about picnics and busting. And boy is she happy doing it!

Rise Against the Empire PlaySet

Disney Infinity 3.0 is looking to be more fun than shooting womp rats in Beggars Canyon back home! New images and details about the Rise Against the Empire Playset have debuted with some wonderful, iconic scenes from the classic trilogy. Developed by Studio Gobo in partnership with Avalanche Software, we'll get space battles, world exploration, and some of the best characters and vehicles from the classic trilogy.

Miss Piggy Receives Award

This past week, Miss Piggy accepted a First Award from the Elizabeth A. Sackler center for Feminist Art. She made a short acceptance speech at the Brooklyn Museum, along with Kermit the Frog. The Sackler Center said on its website that it was honoring "performer, actor, writer, and icon Miss Piggy, for more than 40 years of blazing feminist trails with determination and humor." She certainly deserves it! Way to go, Piggy!

When the award was announced at the end of April, Miss Piggy was credited with saying "Moi is thrilled but frankly, not surprised to be receiving this Sackler Center First Award. It is truly wonderful to be celebrated and share this honor with fellow legends, role models and pioneers of female fabulosity."

Teaser for The Good Dinosaur

Disney-Pixar released the teaser trailer for The Good Dinosaur, a production troubled little film. The teaser doesn't really show much, hence teaser, and I'm not sure how excited we are, but it's a fun little trailer that shows us some of the visuals and the main idea behind the film - What if the dinosaurs didn't go extinct?

Tangled to Series

Disney Channel announced that Tangled will be coming to series. The series will include most of the original voice cast and Alan Menken and Glenn Slater returning to do songs. It's pretty darn awesome that the series will be from most of the original folks who made the film. The series will take place between the events of Tangled and Tangled Ever After. 

Hot Toys releases images of Scarlet Witch

Hot Toys continues to produce the best collectible action figures around. Scarlet Witch is no exception. This beautifully sculpted figure captures the likeness perfectly and comes with a ton of accessories. Now we just need to see Quicksilver!

Yoda in Disney Infinity

An article from USA Today has an interview with Jeff Bunker, studio art director at Avalanche/Disney Interactive Studios and the man in charge of the distinct visual look of everything Infinity. Personally, I wish they had gone with more of the classic Yoda look. But we still can't wait to play with him in the toy Box!!!

Watchin' and Waitin'

Why:  The whole gang is in one this on. This song really captures Candace's inner thoughts about the inventions her brothers make. It's catchy and gets stuck in your head. Next time you're waiting for something, this song will be playing in your head.
 

Der Kinderlumper

Why: Der Kinderlumper is ridiculously frightening. Can you imagine a monster that puts you in a sack anytime you do anything? Ya, that's terrifying. I can't even imagine growing up in Drusselstein. Of course, Doof got the bad version of the song, while Roger gets a Kinderlumper that's akin to Santa. The style of song, the big band feel, is so different for the show and is really one of the songs strong points.

Ducky Momo is My Friend

Why: This song does so much to help us understand Candace. But we've all been a similar situation - trying to hide your true passion because of the fear of being made fun of. Ducky Momo is Candace's rock. A character she can depend on and gives her strength and confidence. It's a touching and fun  song.

Give Up

Why: Candace finally gets it. If she gives up she can have the summer she always wanted. But alas, it's not in Candace's nature to give up. I love this song because it actually makes you feel really good about giving up. Nothing negative here. Also, there's a choir of Candace's.

Dancing in the Sunshine

Why: This is the feel good song of the summer! What can go wrong when you're dancing in the sunshine?

Top 5 Songs Part 1

Why: Not only a great episode, but also a great song! The entire cast gets to sing while Mom sits in the yard and watches everything unfold. Unfortunately, the boys don't actually make anything worth while until Candace gets her foot stuck in it. Blueprints, Doof, Perry, and the whole gang make this an unforgettable and catchy song that when it's over you'll want to make some blueprints.

Why: Just the concept is awesome. Evil love lets us see what would happen if Evil and Love got together and had giant robot armies march. Doof gets to sing the whole thing and I anything Doof sings we generally tend to like. However, Doof is foiled by his own scheme and it ends on a bittersweet note for Perry the Platypus.

Why: This song is probably the best way to wake up in the morning to. After all, isn't everything better with Perry. Very clever lyrics, Ferb singing as only Ferb can, and the beginning of a great adventure all start with this song.

Why:Why: C-A-N-D-A-C-E Party! Oblivious to what she is doing, Candace starts the whole snowball rolling until she is singing the entire song with everyone else. After all, it’s just an intimate get together.

Why: Positive, upbeat, encouraging, and the entire P&F family get to be seen, this song really shows us what summer, and life, is all about. Summer really does belong to you and Phineas and Ferb make sure we remember that with incredible lyrics, unforgettable rhymes, and great music.

"Christmas Vacation"

Why: This Christmas episode ranks easily as one of the best television Christmas specials ever. It's right up there with A Muppet Family Christmas. The three plots are woven together so well, the pacing is perfect, the songs are wonderful and memorable, and the characters are in top form. It makes you feel good all over and reminds you what Christmas is all about. We watch it over and over around Christmas time and the songs are now part of our regular Christmas mix. What this episode does so well is capture a part of Christmas that no other special has ever done.

"Summer Belongs to You!"

Why: This special reminds us what summer is all about! And perhaps life in general. You have to make the most of everyday. It includes great songs, a fantastic plot device of traveling the globe for the longest summer day ever, and introduces another layer to Phineas. It's all around fun! I especially love that Candace gets in on the act, initially for selfish reasons but then comes around and recognizes that Phineas and Ferb really know how to make a day fun. It also reminds us to believe in yourself (even if by the transitive property of belief).

"Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension"

Why: The film starts off with one of the best sequences ever. Not only do we get fun songs, but we get to see a whole new relationship develop between Perry and Phineas and Ferb. The film brings all of the characters together in a meaningful way. We also got to see a wonderful moment when all of Phineas and Ferb's inventions (as well as their friends) come together to protect Danville with the agents of O.W.C.A. It's a fantastic episode where everyone comes together to save the day, even Candance.

"Night of the Living Pharmacist"

Why: This episode ended up being one of the craziest and most ridiculous ever. A static shock that turns you into a Doof spreads over Danville. It's hysterical and references so many horror movie cliches. It's another fun episode that brings all of the characters together in meaningful ways. The relationship with Candace and Vanessa is really fun and unexpected. Stacy has an entertaining little story going on, too. Also, the triangulation song is hilarious. "Lots of me!"

"Mission Marvel"

Why: It was a tough call between Mission Marvel and Star Wars. Mission Marvel one out. I think seeing the Marvel Villains working with Doof won me over. The song "My Evil Buddies and Me" really makes the characters shine. This is another episode where we get to see Phineas mad. Really mad this time at Candace. There's a Doctor Who reference, Spider-Man and Venom, and a great final battle sequence with waffles.

Disney Infinity 3.0 Inside Out Playset!

With only a few weeks before Inside Out appears in theatres, it seems wise to introduce Disney Infinity fans to the playset that will accompany the movie.

The playset will be a sequel story to the film, so it's a good thing the movie comes out before the playset. This playset stars Riley babysitting. While babysitting she falls asleep and accidentally changes the channel on the tv to a scary movie. This wreaks havoc with her subconscious and her emotions go into crisis mode. Enemies include broccoli, swamp creatures, and bats. We love bats!

This playset is mainly focused on platforming. Unlike 2.0, which was combat heavy, this will be a nice addition to the playset family and offer a totally new experience and promotes cooperative play. This is where Disney 3.0 needs to up their game and make the playsets available for online play.

All the emotions have their own special abilities to help get through the platforming challenges. This is great because it makes the player use all the characters in the playset instead of sticking to the ones they like the most.  Anger can run across lava, Disgust can high jump, Fear runs quickly, Joy can glide across large gaps, and Sadness can walk across clouds. All unique abilities to promote the platforming theme.

Clouds are a big component of the levels. Sadness can walk across them with ease, but any other character can only step on them briefly before they disappear; you must jump quickly if you want to get past them without using Sadness. If you're playing co-op, Sadness can pick up another character like Anger and walk across the clouds with him, easing your co-op partner's troubles. Similarly, Anger can pick up Sadness and carry her across the lava should she need it. The entire set can be played single player, but cooperative two-player gameplay is highly encouraged.
Another element is called musical gameplay. Here, you flip switches back and forth, turning on and off various platforms. You must match the musical lines and which platforms you're going on to get through the various areas. This means precisely timing and syncing up with the beat to do so.  Additionally, a gravity feature switches your perspective, turning the world and making you platform upside down.
